last night was technically an “in night,” though i still managed to stay up till 3. that being said, i wasn’t too keen on starting my saturday early enough to have the option of watching morning cartoons.
unfortunately, the office beckons. and although i’m still feeling quite sleepy, this miike snow track (which has been on serious rotation since its recent release) is helping my day gain momentum. maybe it’ll help yours too :) have a splendid saturday!

one of our long-time residents threw a farewell party in the clubhouse yesterday. she excused herself from her guests for a few minutes to stop by our office to thank the staff. she also gave vanessa and i roses. so sweet :)

currently working on the travel itinerary for my pending european excursion. though my post-study wanderings have yet to be finalized, at the very least, my month in salamanca is set in stone.
with all this trip planning, i decided to go through the photos from last spring. this is one of my favorites from an afternoon walk through the “golden city.” the plateresque detail on salamanca’s old sandstone buildings works in harmony with the sun’s rays. there are those moments when the light hits just right, and this was one of them.

i don’t just own heels because they add to my height (i kinda like being a shorty and couldn’t imagine life being any taller), but i fell in love with the gray pair months ago because of the stiletto’s shape ♥. it was a pleasant surprise to find out that they were, in addition to being shmexy, incredibly comfortable. i had finally found a pair of 5-inch platform stilettos that didn’t make me want to weep with every subsequent step.
and because a good shoe is a good shoe, i bought them in black. LE WHEEEE!

spending the remainder of the evening in front of my trusty mbp, planning my upcoming jaunt to eur.
i needed some company, so i opted for coffee from a french press and a little bit of bailey’s. it’s frigid out—why the hell not?

one of my bests decided to move to jerZ to live with her then-boyf-now-fiancée; quite the grown-up thing to do :) anyhoo, soleil only comes into town every once in a while so we do get giddy and excited when we get to see each other.
fortunately, the universe worked it out so we were able to hang out when she was last home. aside from a booze-less happy hour, a mini-shopping excursion, and bridesmaids dress fittings, soleil, demi and i also went for the requisite pitstop at georgetown cupcake :)

grabbing “drinks & dessert” with a close friend morphed into late night dinner #2, accompanied by a cold brewhaha. turns out that clyde’s “chicken sandwich #1” is best consumed when wearing comfy sweats—the elastic is a dear friend of the cause.

it seems i’ve been pushing back my bedtime more and more as the days go by, with me crawling under the sheets around 8 this morning, and forcing myself to wake up a bit past 3.
my day started off great regardless, in large part to coldplay’s cover of calvin harris (♥) and riri’s “we found love.” talk about unexpected—i mean, i can’t quite imagine the band listening to rihanna in their spare time. in any case, i’m excited to have a version that’s still happy but a bit less rowdy while studying at ungodly hours :)
